In less than a year with Sep7Ro, I’ve already worked with over 150 students, currently teaching more than 100 of them weekly, both in groups and privately.
Most of them are Romanian or Moldovan kids living in the USA, Canada, and the UK. I didn’t expect that to become my niche demographic, but I absolutely enjoy it. I also love working with kids in Europe who speak English, especially in the mornings and on weekends. And yes, I’m trying to learn a bit of Romanian. Let’s just say I know a few words, and the kids love testing me.
Before joining Sep7Ro, I had plenty of experience teaching kids both online and in person, in schools and academies across Canada. Now I live in Toronto, and between teaching kids from Europe in the morning and North America in the evening, I also play in chess tournaments. It’s a hobby for me and a way to stay sharp. I’ve played in events across Canada and in several countries in Europe. Soccer is at the top of my list of hobbies. Many of my students also play and follow soccer, which makes it easy to connect with them.
I currently teach more weekly classes than Septi himself. As he slowly moved into a more managerial role in the school, more students came to me. Along the way, he also became a close friend. What I love about being part of this team is that we see chess education the same way.
We both believe it should be taught with patience, clarity, joy, and lots of personal attention. We often talk about our students and share ideas on how to help each one grow.
