In my 15 years of teaching chess, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with over 1,400 children. Now, as a children’s chess teacher, I bring together young students, mostly Romanian, providing them with an extracurricular program they can enjoy every week.
I started teaching chess to children regularly at the age of 19. Over the years, I turned this passion into a career. For eight years, I taught full-time in various schools and academies in Toronto, instructing up to 200 children in the same week. I have always been drawn to the idea of passing on my knowledge to the next generation.
Since 2020, with the pandemic, I transitioned to online classes. Shortly after, I discovered the possibility of traveling around the world while teaching online. I taught courses to children in Canada, moving across the globe and adjusting my personal schedule according to changing time zones. With the goal of bringing online chess to children in Romania, in 2023 I wanted to see if I could also be a children’s chess teacher in Romanian.
Personally, I started playing chess around the age of four, as chess has been a family tradition. Because of this, I can easily put myself in the children’s shoes and adjust my way of communicating to their age.
